Are the Fog Lights on a 2001 Volkswagen Beetle Required to be Removed for Base Plate Installation
Updated 08/28/2013 | Published 08/24/2013 >
Question:
Your installation instructions say to remove the fog lights. Do they remain off? The picture is not very clear but it looks like the brackets mount through the fog light mounting holes.

The Roadmaster EZ base plate kit # 521225-1 is confirmed as a fit for your 2001 Volkswagen Beetle, and yes the fog lights on your 2001 Volkswagen need to be removed to install these base plates.
I will be sending you a copy of the installation instructions in a separate e-mail. According to Step 2 of the instructions the fog lights are required to be removed and can be stored for later use but cannot be used while the base plates are installed.
I have included a helpful article regarding base plates for your reference as well as an overview of flat towing for your reference.
