How many wires do I need to the thermostat and does it need its own 12 V sauce

The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box and Wall Thermostat, # ADV44FR has four wires to thermostat. Purple connects to B position, blue to A, with red being the needed 12VDC and gray to COM.

@EddieT Hello Eddie. It all depends on what you would like on. Here are the different settings for the DIP switch on the back of the unit: - DIP Switch 1: OFF (Heat Strip function disabled) - DIP Switch 2: OFF (Heat Pump function disabled) - DIP Switch 3: ON (Furnace function enabled) Whenever you change the DIP switch it is required to do a factory reset. You can do so by: -Make sure the thermostat is in "Off" mode. You can turn it off by holding the on/off button for 3 seconds. - Start the reset process by holding down the "Mode" and "Fan" buttons at the same time - While holding those 2 buttons down, press the "On/Off" button once, then let go of all the buttons. The screen will flash to show that the reset was complete. After doing this you will need to set up your preferences again, as everything will go back to the original default settings.
