Expert Reply:
No, the Draw-Tite trailer hitches for the 1992 Ford Explorer like # 75083 will not fit a 2004 Ford Explorer. A 2004 Ford Explorer is going to require a specific custom fit hitch. I have included a link to the options for you. The comparable Draw-Tite hitch is # 75132.
If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. For trailer wiring use # 18252 if you do not have a trailer wiring connector already.
