Some older reviews talk about the mirrors scratching factory painted mirrors. Has this issue been resolved with an update?

There has been no update to the design of the K-Source Snap & Zap Custom Towing Mirrors - Snap On - Driver and Passenger Side # KS80730. I was unable to find any reports of these mirrors scratching the factory paint, but I did find quite a few reviews saying they did not scratch the paint. This leads me to believe that this is an uncommon occurrence or may have been caused by something else.

However, if you're worried about scratching the paint, you may want to consider the Longview Custom Towing Mirrors - Slip On - Driver and Passenger Side # LO34FR. These also have quite a few reviews saying they did not scratch the paint on the factory mirror which seems to be the main concern for many people. The Longview mirrors also have the largest pads on the inside of the mirrors to provide the best protection. These mirrors also come with a 1-year warranty and are made in the USA.
