Weight Rating Information for Yakima Control Towers

Question:
What is the load rating for this, both dynamic and static? Also, is the rating given for a single tower or a set of 4, when used in a set of crossbars?

Expert Reply:
I contacted the manufacturer regarding your questions on the Replacement Yakima Control Tower # Y8890027. What they told me was that the weight rating for all 4 of the towers with a set of Yakima bars is typically 165 lbs. So not individually.
It is important to note that the control tower will require vehicle specific landing pads to fit your vehicle.
