Question:
I am looking for the harness for an electric trailer brake controller for a 2007 Toyota Tacoma without the tow package. The one you have depicted for my truck is not correct, see attached photo for the one in my truck. I verified that the second from left top row indeed gives me about 10V DC when I press the brake pedal. The part is not 3040-P or 3041-P, note that the receptacle is not symmetric and takes different pins. I guess I could just run a wire from that pin to the brake controller, but it might not hold well without attaching it in some way. I thank you in advance.

The Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter 3040-P does not fit your 2007 Toyota Tacoma because this is for vehicles with the factory tow package.
Your only option is to hardwire the harness with the Pigtail Wiring Harness for Tekonsha and Draw-Tite Trailer Brake Controller # 20127.
You're also going to need to add a 4-way # C55513 and a 7-way # ETBC7 if one is not present.
I have attached a couple of videos for you to check out as well.
