I have a 2022 chevy 2500 with factory prep for gooseneck and fifthwheel. I am receiving a Demco Recon hitch with my camper and was wondering witch ball I should buy. I was looking at reviews and one said that the Curt 60629 which is specified for my truck was too tall on his 2021 chevy 2500 and that he needed to use the 60601 with this hitch. Is this true?

The Demco Recon fifth wheel hitch adapter part # DM8550045 that you referenced can fit basically any hitch ball that is shorter than 5 inches in height above the truck bed which the part # C38CR we offer is compatible with so it would be your best choice.
