How far from the end of the Thule Squarebar EVO cross bar does the slot on the bottom extend?

The slot on the underside of the Thule SquareBar Crossbars, like the 50" # TH712300, extends out to 9-1/4" as you can see in the attached photo. If you let me know what the year/make/model is of the vehicle you're wanting to install these on I can let you know what all you'll need to accomplish this.
