Is the tow wiring harness on this kit Active or Passive? The instructions for this kit specify that the Active wiring kit requires programming. "The active harness requires reprogramming of the vehicle’s computer before the trailer wiring can be used. This programming must be taken into account when planning the timing of the Stealth product install. The programming process should be started before the installation of the parts. Please allow at least a week to make programming arrangements." Are there more details on what this programming entails? Specifically for a 2018 Audi S4.

Really good question, and the wiring kit is a passive one for the Stealth Hitches receiver and wiring kit that fits your 2018 Audi S4, which is the following part number:

- Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit # 391AUDA417T

I have cut out two parts of the instructions, with the first showing the active vs. passive difference, and the other specifying that the wiring kit is passive for your Audi. Since it gets the power from your battery, there is not any programming to do whatsoever before or after installing the Stealth Hitches # 391AUDA417T.

This is a superb choice for your S4 because no part of this hitch is going to show, as you can remove the ball mount or receiver when you aren't using it, allowing your Audi to completely retain its factory appearance.
