What Can I Install To Keep a Lifted 2018 Ford F-150 Level When Towing a Camper?

Updated 02/10/2022 | Published 02/09/2022

Question:

hello, i have a 2018 ford f150, it currently has a front bilstein 5100 at 2.1in setting with a .5in top hat shim for a total 2.6in front and rear with 2.0in rear block. i wanted this set up to keep the rear about .5-1in taller so it will sit level with my camper but seems to bring the rear about 1in lower than the front. i would like to have it sitting level as much as possible. my question is will the 1500lbs sumo springs work for what i need especially with the 2in block i have in the rear. will it possibly keep it level or will it be to much room and still sag before it does its job?

My recommendation to keep your 2018 Ford F-150 as level as possible when pulling your camper is to use a Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET. The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-117-47 are designed for a stock height truck and the lift blocks you have will create a gap to the springs. Even without the lift the springs are progressive so they will start out soft and allow for deflection when you load the tongue weight of the camper.

The Equal-i-zer will allow you to adjust the tension on the spring bars, and transfer weight equally across your truck keeping it level. This particular system # EQ37100ET is rated for tongue weights of 600-1,000lbs and a maximum trailer weight of 10,000lbs. If your trailer has a weight rating that falls outside this range let me know what your rating is and I will recommend the correct kit.

A 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 is needed to install the included 2-5/16" hitch ball that comes with the Equal-i-zer system.
