Question:

I see where you recommended this product to a customer for an interior mounting on an enclosed trailer Would this be suitable for exterior mounting? If not is there a suitable product that would be? Would mounting two sets be too heavy for the vertical supports? Approximate weight of kayak and canoe are 80 pounds each 160 together.

I do have a kayak/canoe storage option that can be used indoors and outdoors. The Malone HighRise Kayak Storage Rack - J-Style - Wall Mount - 1 Kayak, part # MPG323, is a powder coated rack, so it will resist rust and corrosion. It can handle kayaks or canoes that weigh up to 150 lbs.

In theory, the Swagman Tajo Wall Mounted Kayak Storage System, part # S65146, can be mounted outside or on the exterior. But this item was not designed for exterior mounting, it is not waterproof nor is it water resistant, so I would advise against it.

With regards to placing two of these on the same vertical supports, I would advise against using the same wall studs to support 160 lbs.
