Hello, Im looking to buy a Blue Ox towing base plate for a 2008 Scion xD. I dont see any install instructions or video for this product, but some reviews mention an install video. Is this available somewhere? Thank you.

We do have the installation instructions for the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX3778 that fits your 2008 Scion xD, but I'm not sure what installation video they saw as we haven't had a chance to install this kit yet. The instructions are attached to this answer page for you to reference.

For a complete flat towing setup you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. If you do not have all of these components I recommend the following:

Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - # BX3778
Blue Ox Alpha 2 Non-Binding Tow Bar - # BX7380 (with safety cables)
Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit - # RM-15267
Brake Buddy Classic 3 - # HM39494

Most flat towing setups require a high-low adapter for the tow bar to remain level while towing. I have linked our selection of adapters for you to check out as well as an article that will help you determine which is the best one for your application.

I like these products because they aren't the most pricey, but they are still effective.
