7-Way Solution to Install at Rear of Fifth Wheel Trailer for Second Trailer
Published 01/18/2022 >
Question:
I need to tandem pull a trailer behind my 5th wheel. I am up to speed on weight limits, length limits, etc. I have a receiver hitch installed, rated at 5,000 lbs behind my 5th wheel 2015 Jayco Pinnacle and no electrical connection at all, but need to add a 7 pin trailer harness to plug the tandem trailer into. Do I tie into the taillight wires of the Pinnacle? Run a long extension to the rear of the truck? Something else? If you have parts that are needed, diagrams, etc, really appreciate the help. Thank you very much,

You'd need to use a 7-way kit like the part # 20023 which comes with a 7 foot long lead and a mounting bracket. You'd use this to tap into the trailer lighting circuits of your 5th wheel and you'd be set. This comes with quick splice connectors you could use as well. This is somewhat of an unusual situation so we do not have diagrams available.
