Trailer Hitch Receiver and Wiring For a 2007 Ford E-350 With Knapheide Service Box

Question:

I have a ‘07 e-350, the issue is the knapheide kuv bed has a lower bumper that I would like to keep in tact. Is there a hitch that will be lower that normal probably 4” lower than frame rail

I recommend looking at the Buyers Products 2" Multi-Fit Hitch Receiver For Ford/GM with Cutaway Service Bodies # 3371801401 for your 2007 E-350 Chassis. This receiver is designed to fit frames that are 42" wide to the outside of the frame rails. The top of the mounting plate is 9" above the top of the crossmember. You will have to compare this with the measurements on your frame with the Knapheide bed.

You will also want to check for the factory trailer wiring connector near the back of the frame. Most Cutaway Chassis will have this included from the factory allowing you to plug in a 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket # HM40975. If you cannot find the connector please let me know and I can help you find the correct wiring. Be sure to check the wiring for the Knapheide box to ensure if they used that wiring for the box lights.
