Whistle Sound After Installing Rhino-Rack 2500 Roof Rack 54" Long
Published 12/27/2021 >
Question:
Hi i have a 2014 ford focus ST, and I recently bought your roof rack. Installation was fine and it works great. The only problem i have is it starts to whistle around 50mph and just gets louder the faster i go. I was just wondering if i installed something wrong or if there was anything i could do to fix this problem. Thank you

It's very common for a roof rack to whistle at highway speed, especially if you're not using aero shaped crossbars. That said, not to worry as there is an easy fix for this, a wind fairing and for this I recommend the Rhino-Rack Fairing for Roof Racks part # RRRF4. This works to break up the wind before it hits the crossbar so you won't get that loud whistle noise out on the highway.
