Question:

I have a 1995 Volvo 850 GLT wagon 4 door and need parts to convert may Thule feet from a previous 1995 Volvo 940 wagon...or what to buy new. Thanks,

Each of these cars have a raised rail option, but your 1995 Volvo 940 Wagon does have a rain gutter option. I have to assume there are not raised rails on both your 1995 Volvo 850 GLT Wagon and your Volvo 940 Wagon, because the roof rack fit would be the same and fit both cars. Unfortunately, you cannot got from a rain gutter roof rack to a raised rail roof, without replacing the Thule feet. Your Thule crossbars may be compatible, but they would have to have a mounting channel on the underside of the crossbar. If your roof rack was purchased recently, that will probably be the case. Without this channel, you cannot use your crossbars with the new Thule feet. Here is your raised rail rack, if you are not able to use your existing crossbars.

This roof rack has a weight limit of 165 lbs. I included locks so the rack can be secured to the vehicle. If your crossbars are compatible, you can use the crossbars and replace the Thule feet. If you have locks, they can be reused with your new roof rack.
