Is There A Way To Add A Ladder Rack To A RetraxPRO MX Cover On A 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 5-3/4 Bed?

I got a RetraxPRO MX 80471 bed cover put on my 2021 GMC Sierra 5-3/4 bed about 6 or 7 months ago and love it. However, I really need to get a ladder rack installed now. The cover doesn't have an option for doing this. Is there any way to get some kind of add on part so I can make this work? If so, what's a good ladder rack to go with it? I would really hate to have to take this cover off. Hopefully you have something that will work for me.

If you need to add a ladder rack to your 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 wit the 5-3/4 foot bed but already have a RetraxPRO MX # RT80471 installed, you are in luck! We have actually been asked this a few times as it is pretty common to want both options.
With that said, you will need to swap out your current side rails for the Replacement Side Rails for RetraxPRO Hard Tonneau Cover with Trax Rails # RTX27FR. We have confirmed with Retrax that this is ok to do and it will give you the ability to get a ladder rack working together with the cover.
Once those are swapped out, I highly recommend the Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Truck Bed Ladder Rack # Y01151-59. Coupled with the # Y01155 adapter kit, it will bolt right into the Trax Rails quickly and easily, giving you up to 300 pounds of capacity. One of the things I really like about this ladder rack is that you can adjust the height from 19" to 30" above the bed rails. This will make loading and unloading a lot easier as you can get it set to that perfect height. This is a highly recommended ladder rack.
