I have tried to find a mirror that will fit over the existing mirror. the cipa made for that model is not big enough. I believe my mirrors are original but they do NOT look like the picture. larger bulge in back of mirror

The CIPA mirrors that you tried are for a specific mirror design and since your mirrors are not the same as this design they would not work, like you have already discovered. The only remaining option is a universal fit mirror. I have included a link to the options for you. However I recommend the door mount mirror # 11650. As far as visibility and the least amount of vibration, this is the best option. I have linked a video of this mirror for you.
