Question:
I want to get some Firestone air bags put on my new 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty. I am getting a fair amount of sagging when I pull my 5th wheel camper. The only thing is, I have the FX4 package on my truck. I have heard there are issues with air bags on the FX4 models. Is this true? And will there be an option available for my truck? Thanks for any help you can provide.

You are correct that there have been some fitment issues with the 2022 Ford F-250 trucks with the FX4 package, but this does not mean we do not have one that will not work. As you mentioned having a fair amount of sag when you are towing, I recommend looking at a heavy duty set up.
With that said, check out the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs # F36ZR. This is compatible with select FX4 models, but you will need to measure from the top of rear axle to the top of jounce bumper stop to make sure it will fit properly. As long as you get 40, 70 or 80mm, this will fit perfectly and will give you 7,500 pounds of load leveling capacity at 150 psi. One of the main reasons I like air bags is that not only can they provide a lot of support, but they can also be deflated down to 5 psi so you can't even tell they are back there, which puts you back to the stock ride feel.
If you do not get one of the 40, 70 or 80mm measurements, you will not be able to go with a Firestone set up, unfortunately. This still does not mean we do not have something that will fit though. If this is the case, you can also go with the Air Lift LoadLifter 7500 XL Air Helper Springs # AL55FJ. Just like the Firestone option, these are also American made and rated up to 7,500 pounds of capacity, though at 100 psi for this option. The main difference between them is the Firestone bags are 4 ply and the Air Lift options are 2 ply, so I do prefer Firestone. With the limited space it can fit into though, you may need to go with the Air Lift.
