Switching between towing and unloaded driving is easy when you can adjust air pressure from anywhere. The Firestone Air Command Extreme Duty system connects directly to your smartphone through Bluetooth or lets you use the included wireless remote. The digital display shows real-time PSI, and the app gives you two memory presets so you can recall your favorite settings fast. It’s fully compatible with iPhone and Android, so you’re always in control whether you’re in the cab or standing by the trailer.
When you’re hauling heavy or uneven loads, this setup moves air quickly to level things out. The extreme-duty compressor pushes up to 150 psi at 23 amps with a 100% duty cycle, filling from 0–30 psi in about 7 seconds and 0–60 psi in 18 seconds. The 2-gallon air tank holds pressure for faster response and fewer compressor cycles. It’s built to handle long run times, but note that if it’s run continuously the max pressure drops to 100 psi.
Uneven weight or off-center cargo doesn’t have to throw off your ride. The dual-path design lets you adjust two air springs independently or inflate two pairs equally, keeping things balanced side-to-side or front-to-back. The system’s electronic control unit (ECU) keeps both sides dialed in so you maintain stability and comfort under changing conditions.
Moisture, road chemicals, and salt spray won’t slow this system down. The compressor, ECU, and fittings are designed to stand up to extreme temperatures and rough environments. With the included air line, wiring harness, and hardware, you can mount the components where they fit best and rely on them to keep working trip after trip.

Thanks for reaching out Arthur! This is a very light-duty compressor with only a 9% duty cycle, so it is normal for it to get very hot if it has to run for extended periods or repeatedly build pressure. Even a small air leak can cause the compressor to run continuously while trying to maintain pressure, which can quickly overheat the unit. The nonstop running concern points either to a remaining leak in the system, the compressor struggling to keep up or the controller not shutting the compressor off correctly when pressure is not reached. We would recommend performing a full leak test on all fittings and air lines and verifying voltage and ground quality at the compressor. The ECM memory issue is likely because the module requires constant battery power to retain settings. Please let me know if this troubleshooting does not solve the issue.

The preset option makes things so much easier, especially if you're heading out in the early morning for a trip. What kind of 5th wheel are you hauling; toy hauler, 5th wheel?

Thank you for the feedback Troy. As you have already seen, in colder climates, mounting the compressor on the frame rail can expose it to moisture and freezing conditions. Installing it in a more protected location, such as the engine compartment, is a great alternative and can help prevent winter-related issues. What are you hauling around that you needed the extra support?

Sorry to hear that, Jeremy. There is nowhere on the frame for this to go at all? This is the first time I have heard something like this before, but I have heard people do sometimes need to some modification/fabricating to mount everything.
