Installation of Honda Pilot Wiring Harness Does
Published 11/30/2021 >
Question:
I bought a #CU86FR, custom wiring harness, for my new 2022 Honda Pilot, but it doesnt fit through the pre-drilled hole in my vehicle. On the website, it says certified to fit Honda 2022. So do I have to cut and splice the wires? Thanks

Expert Reply:
Installation of the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector, # CU86FR feeds through the bottom of the vehicles cargo area by removing the rubber grommet. See the attached image.
I have linked an installation video of this item on a 2021 Honda Passport. It will install similarly on the Pilot. If unable to feed this through for whatever reason, then yes the cutting and splicing the wires is an option. But I suggest that you first remove the grommet completely from the cutout, as per the attached images and the linked video. This will provide the maximum opportunity to feed the wires and connector through the sheet metal.
