Using 30 lb. Bottles With The Complete Propane Tank Holder Mounting Kit for 20-lb Tanks

Question:

I only need the bottom tray part. Will this work for 2 - 30# tanks, and be heavy enough?

The Complete Propane Tank Holder Mounting Kit for 20-lb Tanks, # 37220BL is intended for tanks that have a diameter of 12-1/2" and 18" tall. A 30 lb. propane bottle is the same diameter but is taller, so the rod for the top piece of the hold down clamp is too short for use on a 30 lb. bottles height.

The weight of an empty 20 lb. tank is about 17 lbs. or 37 lbs. when full with 30 lb. tank full, it will weigh about 55 lbs. The Tank Holder, # 37220BL, is built for this weight of 2 each 20 lb. bottles and not 30 lb. however, depending on how you have it mounted, I doubt using a 30lb bottle will be an issue and if you are not needing the top portion, then the length of the rod for hold clamp is not an issue for your application.
