Will the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps Clear a Door Strut

Question:

Our 2017 Rockwood Mini Lite has a gas strut that holds the door open at a 90 degree angle to the trailer. The strut mounts to the bottom of the door and to the threshold 4.5inch from the right side of the door opening. Will this strut still fit with the LCI step or would the door need to be converted to the traditional full open with latch?

If you install the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps # LC791572 you will need to remove the strut. The steps need to be able to fold in so the strut would have to be out of the way in order for them to do so.
