Question:

I installed Hopkins 47185 Multi-Tow 4 Flat to 7 Blade and 4 Flat Adapter on My 2013 Mazda CX-9 except for the blue wire electric brake. I want to install a brake controller as well but not sure where to begin. I looked under the dash and theres a plug, but not sure if its for hooking up brake controller. Id like to know how can I tell if its the right plug and which brake controller you recommend? If possible, provide me with a link to your recommended product. Thank you.

The 2013 Mazda CX-9 wasn't factory prewired for a brake controller, so you'll need to hardwire the controller. The installation isn't too difficult, I'll provide some videos and help articles that will help you through the process.

The Tekonsha P2 brake controller you've already looked at, part # 90885 and the Hopkins adapter would be a great start. In addition to those parts, you'll need our # 5506 brake controller installation kit.

The kit includes the wire, circuit breakers and hardware needed to complete the brake controller installation.
