I went ahead and confirmed with the 2021 Kia Sorento user's manual that it does mention that for a standard 255/45-20, you need "fabric-type chains." With this recommendation, they mean tire socks. For this route, I recommend the ISSE Hybrid Snow Socks - Size 72 - 1 Pair # TCH72. These socks are designed to fit 255/45-20 tires and will increase traction on snows/icy roads. It is important to note that these socks should only be used on the front wheels on your AWD model. The reason why the Kia manual suggests these socks over traditional chains is because it reduces the chance of the chains interfering with the frame/struts/axles of the vehicle.
