Question:

Hi. I have a 2020 Chevy Traverse with factory rails on top of car. I will be purchasing the Thule TH711400 crossbar set, but I see that both the TH710401 and the TH450R attachments work with the crossbar set. The TH450R has a strap that goes around the rails. The TH710401 just clamps on. Which is more secure? Thank you.

The strap style of foot from Thule TH450R (discontinued) is the older style that will be phased out at some point and the clamp part # TH710401 is the newer style. They both are incredibly reliable and would work great with the part # TH711420 but I would recommend going with the newer style since if replacement parts were ever needed they'd be much easier to get going forward. We've not had any issues with secureness with either style though.

If you wanted a set of locks for this you'd just need the part # TH450400 and you'd be set.
