Best Trailer Hitch & Roof Racks for a 2014 Ford Taurus

Question:

What hitch do you recommend for a 2014 Ford Taurus Limited? 1.25 in or 2 in? What roof rack do you recommend? The hitch will be for 2-3 bike rack and roof rack for a cargo carrier. Thanks

The trailer hitch that I recommend going with for your 2014 Ford Taurus is the Curt # C13379 which is a Class III hitch that has a 2" receiver. You'll be able to use a wider variety of hitch accessories with a Class III receiver. I like the brackets and thicker powder coat on this Curt over what comes on the Draw-Tite which is why I recommend the Curt. If you don't already have a bike rack then I highly recommend the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU24FR which can carry up to 3 bikes and has a U-Shaped design so it's easier to load and unload your bikes.

When it comes to a roof rack I really like the Yakima JetStream system because it uses high-quality crossbars and legs/towers that have adjustments in them that make the system fit like a glove to your roof. You will need the following for this roof rack:

60" JetStream Bars - # Y00426
BaseLine Towers - # Y28TR
BaseClip Fit Kit - # Y06196
Lock Kit - # Y07204 (optional)

If you don't already have a roof rack then I recommend checking out the Yakima OffGrid # Y07138 because of how easy it is to use and how adjustable it is. It comes with removeable bars that can be used as tie-down points plus you can add the 18" Extension # Y07108 if you decide you'd like more room.
