Will Demco Solenoid Kit Allow Titan Model 60 to Back Up Hills
Published 10/19/2021 >
Question:
I currently have a Titan Model 60 disc brake actuator with a blocking solenoid on my boat trailer. The solenoid works ok on fairly flat terrain, but with the hill leading to my garage, the brakes tend to lock up when I have stop on the hill. I usually end up using my homemade actuator block. I want to install the DM5404. I understand that I will have to drill and tap into the master cylinder for the return line. Is the port size on the DM5404 the same as my Titan model 60? are there any other pitfalls? Will this solve my issue? TIA for your answer.

Based on my research, it looks like the port size should be the same for your Titan Model 60 and the Demco Solenoid Kit for Brake Actuators with Reverse Lockouts # DM5404.
As for other pitfalls, not that I can think of, and this will solve the issue of allowing you to back up the hill leading to your garage without your trailer brakes activating.
