Does Skid Plate Have to be Removed to Install Draw-Tite Front Hitch on 2005 Toyota Tundra

Question:
can the front skid plate be kept in place with part # 65031. In video states comes off and stays off, but in pictures it is shown in place. thanks

According to the installation instructions, yes, the skid plate does need to be removed in order to install the Draw-Tite front hitch on your 2005 Toyota Tundra:
- Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65031
I did see the customer photo and review that mentioned they left the skid plate on an '03 Tundra, so it is possible, but it is not something we have done so I can't say specifically if this will work the same on your '05 Tundra. We do always recommend following the manufacturer's installation method in order to guarantee the proper fit, so I do recommend removing the skid plate to install the Draw-Tite # 65031.
