Question:

I have rhino rack aero crossbars and a rhino rack on top of my Ford E350. Looking for a way to carry a surfboard on edge up there somehow. Would these items work for that? Thanks

I'll start out by saying that the Rhino Rack Nautic Stack # RRS520 is not designed to carry surfboards and I'm not aware of a product that will allow you to hold surfboards in this manner; because of their size and relatively low weight, they're going to be much more susceptible to wind mounted in this manner. I don't believe that a surfboard can be safely secured to roof crossbars in this configuration and the additional movement that would be caused by cross-winds would likely break the Nautic Stack.

For this reason, you're going to be much safer by carrying the board flat and using something like the Inno Board Locker Surfboard Carrier - Locking - Clamp On - 3 Shortboards or 2 Longboards # INA744. The Board Locker will clamp on to your Rhino Rack aero bars and comes with locks to secure the board(s) to the roof rack, so it's a great alternative that's designed specifically for this task.
