Identifying Problems with Brake Controller not Functioning on a 1998 Dodge Ram

Question:
It installed fine on Dodge Ram 1998 Cummins Diesel 24v pickup. Then it seemed to have stopped working. I swapped the trailer to my other truck and it seems to work fine, so I think something is off on the setup on the Dodge. I used the factory connector and didnt have to modify anything. Is there a likely suspect? How do I look for the problem here? Thank you in advance

Expert Reply:
I would start by checking your fuses and then move on to looking at your wiring harness and see if you have any damage. If you don't find any problems I recommend checking your vehicles 7-way connector to ensure it is supplying power to your trailer. You will need to use a Digital Multimeter like Item # PT29ZR to check your connector.
