Solera RV Slide-Out Awning on Winnebago Minnie With 2.5" Between Rain Gutter and Slide-Out
Updated 08/12/2021 | Published 08/11/2021 >
Question:
Your installation video states that the awning rail is installed 3 inches above the top of the slide-out. On my Winnebago Minnie 2500FL travel trailer yr 2018, I only have 2.5 inches between the top of the slide-out and existing rain gutter. Can this awning rail and awning be installed on my trailer with this measurement? If possible, I would butt the awning rail up against the bottom of the rain gutter. Thanks.

Yes, the Solera RV Slide-Out Awnings, such as the, # LCV000163288 should have a 3" space to provide the needed slope for water drainage. While it can be installed with a 2.5" slope, it is recommended to have the 3" minimum. In addition, Lippert stresses that all screws supporting the awning assembly MUST have a backer within the structure of the wall of the unit.
