I recommend the Draw-Tite receiver hitch item # 76176 for your 2021 Volkswagon Atlas. This custom fit receiver hitch has a 900 lbs tongue weight and a 6000 lbs towing capactiy. It has an easy, bolt-on installation with no welding required. The Draw-Tite hitch receiver is also rated to be used with a weight distribution system.
I also recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness item # 118754. The T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring harnesses behind your rear tail-lights with no splicing.
