Easy Solution for Finding Stoplight Circuit Switch on 2012 GMC Terrain

Question:

h I have located the bcm and found the black connector one of seven. I have isolated the #11 white wire for the brake sense. I have tapped into the white wire and check it for voltage with a multimeter. Voltage is only present when the brake pedal is depressed. PROBLEM is after 1 or 2 brake applications the voltage disappears and the brake lights quit working and no more voltage on the #11 wire. Have checked and rechecked the black connector and the #11 white wire. When I disconnect the connector from the bcm and reconnect it in a few minutes it all works again. Completely puzzled. There are two unused wires in that black connector a Blue with white stripe and a Green with white stripe that are about 3-4 inches long and terminated with electrical tape. What am I doing wrong??

We have an easy solution to provide a stoplight circuit on your 2012 GMC Terrain with the Roadmaster Universal Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751000. Some vehicles have a hard time finding the stoplight circuit but this switch solves the problem.

You are using the correct circuit on your Terrain and if it's not wanting to work consistently this would be only solution.
