Trunk Bike Rack Recommendation For 2017 Kia Sorento

Question:

I have a 2017 Kia Sorento and looking for a 2-3 trunk bike rack for mountain bikes. Which do you recommend is best for my car? I am considering the Yakima HangOut trunk bike rack, #Y02637 and the Saris Trunk bike rack, SA803. I read different reviews and seen recommendations for both.

I am partial to the Saris Bones EX 3 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms, part # SA803. I have used this rack on multiple cars to take cross country trips. I drove from St. Louis to California, and back, carrying two bikes. I also drove from Washington DC to St. Louis and back, carrying two bikes. I never had a problem with this rack on either trip. This rack carries your bikes via three straps, two for the top tube and one anti-sway cradle that prevents back and forth movement. This rack is not metal, so it will not rust from exposure to the elements. If your bike has a step thru frame, or if it has any non traditional bike frame, you will need an adapter for your bike to carry it on this bike rack. The Saris Bike Beam Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Women's and Alternative Frame Bikes, part # SA3040, will allow you to carry those types of bikes on this rack.
