The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11091 is a great option and a confirmed fit for a 2014 Volkswagen CC. It can be used for towing and has a 2,000 lb towing capacity. That said, this does not take into consideration the vehicle rating but so long as the lower of the two ratings exceeds the weight of the trailer there will be no further issues.
Please note you'll also need, ball mount part # 3594, and hitch ball part # 19258.
