Question:

Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Truck Bed Ladder Rack for Tonneau Cover - 68inch Crossbars Item # Y01151-5855 I have a 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 - short bed. Will this work with a tonneau roll up cover that does not cover the stake pockets? Does it come with everything needed for installation - rail bars, tower, crossbars?

The Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Truck Bed Ladder Rack for Tonneau Cover - 68inch Crossbars
Item # Y01151-5855 is only compatible with Retrax XR, Pace Edwards UltraGroove, or Ford Embark LS tonneau covers on your 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 (5-1/2 ft. bed). The ladder rack does come with everything needed for installation.

If you are looking for one of these compatible tonneau covers, there is one that stands above the others: the Pace Edwards UltraGroove Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover - Aluminum and Vinyl - Matte Black # 311-KRC3250. The aluminum cover engages the rails at 12-inch intervals so you can partially cover long items. Another feature that the UltraGroove has is the built-in pull strap lets you deploy cover quickly without fumbling around with handles.

If you already have a tonneau cover that is not the Retrax XR, Pace Edwards UltraGroove, or Ford Embark LS, you can still get a compatible ladder rack for your 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 that is compatible as long as the stake pockets are open. For this route, I recommend the Adarac Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack - Steel with Aluminum Crossbars - 500 lbs # A90190. The Adarac has a 500-pound weight capacity and has full-length, slotted utility rails that offer multiple tie-down options for securing cargo in your bed. If you need securing straps to keep your cargo secure, I recommend the SmartStraps Ratchet Tie-Down Straps w/ S-Hooks - 1" x 10' # 348149.
