Question:

Hello I have a 2019 Nissan Armada SL AWD. The maximum towing capacity is 8500 lbs. The max tongue weight is 850 lbs. We are looking at a travel trailer that has a listed dry weight of 7200 lbs. The tongue weight is 930 ish. The Nissan has factory auto ride leveling rear air shocks. Is there a shock, airbag or other upgrade that could make the Nissan max tongue weight be less of an issue? Also, if the tongue weight includes the battery and propane tanks, could relocating them help? I will be using a brake controller and weight distributing hitch.

The only suspension enhancement option for a 2019 Nissan Armada is the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F4150. That said, these airbags are only for models without factory auto-leveling suspension. If you have factory auto-leveling suspension then the only thing that will help with tongue weight is a weight distribution system. I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control part # EQ37100ET.

It is possible to rearrange items on the trailer to change the tongue weight but this is not ideal since it can affect handing and stability.
