Question:
I own a 2021 Cherokee Artic Wolf 287BH. I primarily camp from September into December in Northern Michigan big snow, lots of leaves etc. Id like to install 6 inches over slider flange to have more fall, but if I miss it theres nothing to anchor it into. My 2 questions are, how high above slider should I mount the rail and still be able to secure into the cross header AND which way should the screws be installed, under the bead slot or over the bead slot?

Expert Reply:
The rule of thumb is 5-6" above the slide to get the proper runoff when installing the rail for your slide topper. The brackets on the slide out should be mounted up against the T-molding corners on each side. I've attached an installation video for you where Shane will walk you through the steps of installing your slide topper.
If you need help determining the size of the slide topper needed for your slide out then reply back with the measurement you get from outside edge of flange to the other outside edge of the other flange.
