Is the Back of the K-Source Replacement Side Mirror KS62133G Glossy

The mirror shows a shiny black on the back, is this part of the mirror or is it cap that is installed on it?

I'm not sure what you would call that on the back of the K-Source Replacement Side Mirror - Electric/Heat w LED Signal # KS62133G, and it doesn't extrude from the housing at all. I've attached a side photo to show it better. It definitely looks a bit more glossy than the rest of the housing, but I think part of it is the lighting too.
