Question:
1990 Silverado with step up bumper Which hitch do you recommend with 12000 lb capacity ?

Expert Reply:
I recommend the B&W Heavy-Duty Trailer Hitch Receiver # BWHDRH25124 for your 1990 Chevrolet C/K Pickup. This receiver requires no drilling into your frame to mount and has the added benefit of separate bolt on mounts to make installing easier with one person. The receiver has a maximum tongue rating of 1,600lbs and trailer capacity of 16,000lbs with or without a weight distribution hitch.
The receiver has a tab to make mounting the 7-Way # ETBC7 easier on your truck. This will allow you to install a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 to control the trailer brakes.
If you do not already have a 4-way connector for the taillights, the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness # 41125 will plug into the factory connector and give you the 4-way that you need.
