Installing A MaxxFan Roof Vent On A Ford Transit 250 Van
Updated 06/07/2021 | Published 06/04/2021 >
Question:
Im outfitting my Ford Transit 250 for camping. I dont want to add anything to the overall height of the vehicle, so Im wondering if this fan would be appropriate for a side installation. If not, can you recommend one that is.

The MaxxFan Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - Manual Lift - 4 Speed - Smoke Item # MA00A04401K requires a 14" x 14" opening and your wall would need to be 2" - 6-1/2" in thickness so you'd most likely need to build some sort of frame to reach that thickness. As long as you can meet the fit requirements and run 12v DC power to it there's no reason why you couldn't. This fan will stick out 4-1/4" when closed and 12-1/4" when open.
Note: this fan is not for use above tubs, showers, or range cooking surfaces.
