Can I replace my existing thule 953 11 inches with this 8 inch. high bracket to lower the bar height on my Jeep rubicon with one a touch sun roof? Thanks

Yes, you can replace your existing 11" Thule 953 with the 8" version. Making this switch will not allow you to operate your sunroof. Both Thule and Yakima say the 8" towers are not tall enough for the sunroof.
You can switch from the Rapid Gutter Feet for Thule Crossbars - Rain Gutters - 11" Tall - Qty 4, part # TH93ZR, for the Rapid Gutter Feet for Thule Crossbars - Rain Gutters - 8" Tall - Qty 4, part # TH33ZR, but you will not be able to activate your sunroof with your rack on your vehicle. Thule and Yakima both say that the 8" towers are not tall enough and they both recommend the 11" towers if you want to operate the sunroof while the rack is on your vehicle.
