Does A Flexible Solar Panel Require A Controller/Regulator When Connected To Item # 331-BCDC1225D

Question:

Hi, I have a 2011 3l automatic Toyota HiAce commuter bus which is being converted into a campervan. A Redarc bcdc system is to be installed for the dual battery charging system. My question is, if I install a solar blanket/flexible panel which does not have a regulator, on the roof of the vehicle, does a regulator/controller have to be installed between the solar panels and the Redarc system or can you connect it directly to the bcdc?

A regulator/controller does not have to be installed when connecting a flexable solar panel to the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger Item # 331-BCDC1225D however, you will not be able to manage how much power you are pulling from your batteries and how much your panels are putting in.
