Does Pack'em Ladder Rack Bracket Kit PK-28B Require A Standard 2 x 4 Or True 2 x 4?

Question:

Do the cross bar receivers require standard or TRUE 2inch lumber? It makes a difference when we order it from the lumber yard. Thank you.

You can use a standard 2 x 4 in the Pack'em Ladder Rack Bracket Kit for Enclosed Trailers # PK-28B you were looking at.

Typically a 2 x 4 is actually closer to 1-3/4" x 3-3/4" and the # PK-28B is tapered where the top is 2" wide and the bottom is 1-13/16" wide as shown in the included diagram. When mounting the upper portion of the bracket to the 2 x 4 it will pull in snug for a nice secure fit.
