Replacing Damaged 7-Way Connector And I Don't Have All 7 Wires On My Trailer

I have all colors connected but I have violet color wire left but no violet wire available on the older connector harness is that needed or can I just put tape on it?

The violet wire that you are referring to is most likely the reverse lamp wire. You will want to confirm this with a Circuit Tester # PTW2993 as not all manufacturers use the same color wires on the same terminals. If you do not have this on your trailer I recommend checking with local laws where you will be operating the trailer on their specific laws in regards to the reverse lights on a trailer. If the wire you are missing is to something besides the reverse lights let me know and I will help you with identifying the correct course of action.
If the reverse lights are not required than you can terminate that wire with tape or Heat Shrink # DW05452
