Question:

Hello, I have Thule Wingbar Evos on top of my Leer 100XR topper on my 2020 Tacoma. I bought the Rhino Rack Compact Batwing awning and the hardware it came with is not compatible with the T-slot on the Wingbar Evo the Rhino Rack hardware is just slightly thicker for the t-slot portion. My question is, can the Thule T-bolt #853208914 be substituted to use to mount the Rhino Rack bracket and awning to these crossbars? Im just curious as to whether these Thule T-bolts are rated to handle to weight. I dry fitted it first and everything mounts up fine, Im just wondering if these bolts are rated for the weight of an awning, thanks.

I reached out to Thule and the # 853208914 does not have a weight capacity they've tested it at, but it's not truly going to be weight bearing a lot of weight, so it would be an acceptable solution to mount the Batwing to your Thule crossbars. This bolt is an M6 x 22mm bolt, so you'll need a 10mm nut, as well.

You also may be able to use the Truck Rack T-Slot Fit Kit for Malone Kayak Carriers # MPG8287, which comes with bolts and track nuts.
