What Solution Do You Have to Transport 1 SUP and 3 Kayaks On a Hyundai Kona?

Question:
I’m very concerned with how to transport a combination of our kayaks and paddle board. The items really giving me a hard time are a Jackson staxx sit on top and a glide hardboard that is 36 inches wide. We also have two sit in kayaks we have always used a Malone stacker with. I have a Hyundai Kona with factory bars but would be open to changing. Is there any way to carry the two wide items at all or one of the wide items with another kayak?

I have an option for you. For the combination of watersport accessories you want to transport, a roof rack solution is not possible. While the Hyundai Kona's owner manual does not recommend to use the vehicle for towing, the only option for two sit-in kayaks, one above-sit kayak, and a paddle board is the Malone MicroSport Trailer with Post Style Carriers # MAL24ZR. The MicroSport trailer will take away the headache of how to position/stack the paddleboard and kayaks on a roof rack system. The trailer comes with a coupler that requires the purchase of a 2" Hitch Ball - 1-1/4" Diameter # A-90 and a Curt Class II Drawbar - 5" Rise # C45015.
Since the LowMax requires a trailer hitch and wiring harness, I would be happy to recommend a hitch/harness for your vehicle if you provide me with the year of Hyundai Kona you own.
