The Thule Pulse Medium Rooftop Cargo Box - 14 cu ft - Matte Black # TH614 is absolutely compatible with the Inno Aero Crossbars that you were looking at. For your 2017 Subaru Forester with raised side rails running front to back you will want to go with Inno Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 39" Long # INXB100-2 with Feet # INXS100.
The cargo box does have the ability to be locked which is a nice feature to have. Personally, I think this is one of the best looking roof boxes on the market and this will be a great setup for you. I attached a couple demonstration videos for you.
