Since your 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT has the 8' Bed Draw-Tite # 75135 will fit your truck perfectly and will not require any drilling to be installed.

This hitch has the 2" receiver you are looking for and has a 500lb tongue weight rating and 5000lb trailer weight rating, but those numbers get increased to 1000lbs tongue weight and 10000lb trailer weight when using a weight distribution hitch.

Since your truck has an 8' bed, there is not a Class IV trailer hitch receiver available.

To complete your towing setup you will also need a vehicle wiring harness if you do not already have one installed by the factory. I recommend the # 119178KIT.
